This Full House Darlin' Is Growing Up!

Jodie Sweetin was only 6 years old when she first started coming into your living room as middle sister Stephanie Tanner on Full House and she's practically grown up before our very eyes. Eight seasons later, Jodie is now 12 years old and on the verge of becoming a teen (she'll be 13 in January!). That means she's into the things most teens are into--shopping for clothes, music, and spending time with her friends. It also means that Stephanie is growing up, too, and she'll be in for some new experiences on the show this season. Always a delight, Jodie stopped by ALL-STARS's offices this summer to chat and tell us all what she's been up to! Here's Jodie!

ALL-STARS: What's in store for Stephanie for the new season of Full House?

JODIE SWEETIN: Hopefully, Stephanie will get some friends [laughs]. Stephanie hasn't really had any friendships that turn out to be anything, so hopefully she'll get some friends and maybe she'll get a boyfriend. I think it should be an interesting year for Stephanie. Hopefully, she'll be doing a lot of stuff. She's now in a middle school so it should be interesting seeing what happens to her there. It should be fun.

ALL-STARS: Has Stephanie had a boyfriend on the show?

JODIE: Not really. She has a couple of times, not in the past year or two, though. But I think if they introduced someone that would be interesting.

ALL-STARS: Do you think she's ready for a steady boyfriend?

JODIE: Umm, not steady, just kind of like a little relationship or something like that.

ALL-STARS: You've been on the show for a long time now and Stephanie has grown up with you. How would you say she's changed?

JODIE: I think they've given Stephanie more to do. Like one time she had to baby-sit for the little boys on the show and probably a year or two ago the producers wouldn't have done that. They're giving her more responsibility and more to do on the show which is a good thing because Stephanie is kind of growing up.

ALL-STARS: Are you dating yet?

JODIE: No. I'm not allowed yet. Not until I'm probably like 15 or 16.

ALL-STARS: What kind of boys do you like?

JODIE: They have to have a good sense of humor--they have to. That is one thing they have to have. Let's see, they have to be nice and they have to be caring and it doesn't hurt when they look good [laughs]. Somebody who just really cares about other people.

ALL-STARS: What are some things you and your friends are into?

JODIE: I like to go Rollerblading with my friends and I like to play tennis. I like to ride bikes and ski. I like to read, ride horses. I like to do a lot of things. I'm kind of an outdoor type person. I like to get out and do stuff.

ALL-STARS: What kind of music are you listening to these days?

JODIE: I like some rap but I also like, I love Counting Crows--I love them. And I also like Aerosmith. I like The Cranberries and I like some of the new groups that are out.

ALL-STARS: What kinds of clothes do you like to wear?

JODIE: I like all kinds of clothing. For school I usually wear jeans or something, but occasionally I'll wear a skirt. I like all different types of clothing. I'm kind of a clothes horse. I love to go shopping. It's fun.

ALL-STARS: What do you have a shopping weakness for?

JODIE: I usually buy shoes. I'm a big shoe person 'cause there are so many cute shoes out there.

ALL-STARS: What's the best advice anyone has ever given you?

JODIE: Stay in school and don't do drugs. That's the best advice that anyone can give.

ALL-STARS: You're only 12 years only. Do you want to continue acting?

JODIE: Right now, I'm really interested in marine biology but I might also like to do something behind the camera--maybe be a director or producer, something like that. Right now, since I've been seeing so many plays, I'd like to be in a Broadway play. I think that would be a lot of fun. And ever since I was little I've always wanted to be a pediatrician. If I achieve any one of those goals I'll be very happy!
