EVENT UPDATE 03

We know you want every detail about Jodie's recent sixteenth birthday party. And Celebrity Sightings is the ONLY place where you can get the info you crave straight from Jodie herself. Take it away, Jodie!

At first, my mom and I didn't really know if we wanted to do anything for my birthday. We thought we might just keep it low key, you know? Just celebrate my Sweet Sixteen with my family and a few friends --maybe go out to dinner or something like that. But at the last minute, my mom said, 'Do you want to have a party?' and I said, 'Yeah! I want to have a party!'

So we went down to Balboa Beach here in California. There's a place there called the Fun Zone. They have all kinds of different rides -- carnival rides and stuff like that. And they have party boats that go out on the water and cruise around the bay.

And so we rented a party boat for the evening, and I invited a whole bunch of my friends. I invited about 54 of my really good friends! So they all came and we had a DJ for four hours, and all kinds of food and it was really, really fun.

I got all kinds of stuff for my birthday. My friends got me the best clothes! They got me such awesome stuff, because they totally know what I like. One of my friends got me this really cute velvet leopard print knee-length skirt -- sort of a retro, '40-ish looking skirt. And then my other friend gave me a black miniskirt with a silver tube top.

I like funky clothes, kind of fun, stylish. A couple of my best friends gave me pictures of us together in cute little picture frames. And I got all kinds of gift certificates. I got lots gift certificates just to Nordstroms. So I'm going on a shopping spree to Nordstroms really soon!

Oh, and my mom gave me a pager for my birthday. And she gave me some clothes, and a computer program for Spanish because I'm taking Spanish III right now.

My birthday was so much fun! I loved it! I had a really, really good time.

SCHOOL, SWEETIN STYLE

When she's not partying with her pals or hanging out with her boyfriend, Ryan, Jodie does what most normal 16-year-olds do -- she goes to school. Here's the 411 on Jodie's academic sitch!

Status: She's a junior

What she's taking: Anatomy
U.S. History
Algebra III
American Literature
Spanish III

Grades: A's and B's. (Yay, Jodie!)

So is school cool?

"I really enjoy school," Jodie says. "I like being in the classroom and I love my teachers. I have really good teachers. They make everything interesting, so you're not just sitting there learning boring stuff."

Fave teachers:

"I really like my history teacher. I really enjoy his approach to teaching. He's just really relaxed and he's a really, really cool guy. And I've had the same math teacher three years in a row, so I've really gotten to know him, which is cool."

Extracurricular activities:

None, right now, but that will probably change. "I haven't had a lot of time for things like that because I used to go to a performing arts school and so I wasn't able to do after school clubs or anything like that. But I'm going to try to get into that now that I have more time!"
